It is completely incomprehensible to me why a person would choose anything less than to maximize life experiences. I envy those with already developed, enriched family situations. But for me, with no chance of a social life working non-stop on remote, female-deprived Molokai, coming here is a God-send. High Thailand recommendations to the adventurist, experiential soul. Warnings to those without clear and spirit-centered goals, because the highly permissive, accommodating nature of the culture (read that: Thai girls) can instantly spin a red-blooded man into fantasmagorical hedonism.
Thailand and Hawaii have the same latitude, but the rainy seasons are reversed. Monsoons are summers. So the yellow, strong-tasting mangos here harvest in winter. Investigated sending Thai mangos to a willing buyer in Canada to complement my summer mangos. Calling around, made an appointment in Bangkok with the best freight forwarder here named Miss Kitty. Instead of swinging saloon doors, gunslingers and honky-tonk piano was her new black glass office building like the monolith in 2001. Walls were mostly glass so I could see girls at computers on way to the top floor office. Miss Kitty was ALL BUSINESS, a deserving member of the small but prevalent rich Thai elite. Airfreight costs, government regulations and logistics proved just too prohibitive. Worth the attempt tho.
Seeing the joy and simplicity here is changing my life. Teaching to let go of anger, and to cultivate only good feelings all the time. Oh, pardon the self-endulgent travelogue. But travelogues usually are descriptions from the first person.
